What is a HOPS?
One of the most important and central ITSO system elements is the HOPS, which is required for any live ITSO scheme.
Simply put the HOPS in the central back office system responsible for collecting, distributing and processing ITSO messages to and from other elements within an ITSO scheme (e.g. ETM, personalisation printers, ISMS). Within this function the HOPS enforces the security rules specified by the ITSO standard, providing a secure central repository for all ITSO transactions within a scheme. For most ITSO transport schemes a Full HOPS system incorporating Collection and Forwarding, Shell Accounts, Product Accounts and Asset Management System (AMS) is required to fully support an ITSO scheme. There maybe instances where a scheme only requires the implementation of a certain HOPS function. As such, ACT has developed its HOPS in a modular fashion ensuring our customers can select those HOPS functions they require.
