ALL NEW Edinburgh Child Pass
Edinburgh Pass, (which uses ACT tourism destination management technology) has launched the Edinburgh Child Pass; a new initiative to encourage children and their families to visit Edinburgh and make the most of their stay.
ACT destination management technology provides and powers the Edinburgh Pass, enabling visitors to load a 1,2 or 3 day pass onto the smartcard. The card is then swiped on entry to the attraction and all is recorded on the Edinburgh Pass back office (which also manages a host of reports, marketing information as well as sales).
Edinburgh has so much on offer for visitors of all ages and following the growing success of the Edinburgh Pass, the new Child Pass, was developed to help families see more and save more during their stay in the city. Sales of the Pass in 2006/07 rocketed to over 11,000, treble the sales on the previous year, and generated over 44,000 visits to attractions involved in the Pass.
As well as the Child Pass, five new attractions will be joining the 2007/08 Edinburgh Pass, bringing the total number of attractions available to 32. The new attractions are John Knox House, Maid of the Forth - Cruise ‘N Relax and Cruise ‘N Explore, Mercat Tours - Writers by the Mile, National Trust for Scotland - Newhailes and Nelson Monument. New exclusive offers for this year include discounts on car hire, Scottish Citylink transport, Highland Experience Tours and in the Camera Obscura & World of Illusions and Edinburgh Zoo Shops.
Sineàd Guerin, VisitScotland's product manager for the Edinburgh Pass, said: "We've watched the Edinburgh Pass treble in sales over the past year, which is fantastic news. Building on this success and in response to customer demand we have introduced the Child Pass. We think that children will love the idea of having their own smart card to visit Edinburgh."
Gary Watts, Director ACT said: ‘Sales of the Edinburgh Pass has proven that the city is a great place to visit and with our smartcard technology made all the better to ensure an exciting and fun-packed stay. ACT is delighted to power the new Child Pass and looks forward to more new developments utilising our sophisticated technology.'
