Brugge and Oostende city cards
The Belgian cities of Brugge and Oostende have chosen ACT (Applied Card Technologies) to provide their new city card. Visitors to the cities will be able to use the card to visit attractions and get free or discounted entry. ACT’s web-enabled destination management solution, Discovery, powers the smart card with its Issue-Transact-Manage™ system and gives visitors flexible and easy admission to every participating attraction.
Toerisme Brugge awarded ACT the contract to deliver the smart destination management systems and managed services, re-affirming ACT’s status as the world leader in the provision and management of smart city passes and adding yet another destination to the ACT portfolio of eleven of the worlds’ favorite destinations.
ACT tourism products are aimed at organisations which operate in the leisure industry, tourism bodies, and local and central government. City cards encourage return trips to destinations and their associated attractions. Key marketing information on visitor statistics is readily available through the online interface provided by ACT and operators can manage day-to-day essentials such as web sales, card issue and dispatch, and financial management. ACT integrated transport systems, now deployed to over 9 million UK customers, provide a value added ingredient to ACT city destination clients.
